It’s a big ask

By Margaret, 06 October, 2014.

Have you ever been asked out for a meal or a drink and found yourself having a dialogue in your head about what could happen if you say yes? Would they fit in with my friends? Will they really “get” me? Would they make a good mother/father? Oops, I think we’re a bit ahead of ourselves here. We are almost asking them to validate our very existence. It’s a big ask!

There was an episode of Full House many years ago when Danny Tanner broke up with a woman because her ear lobes were uneven. If you judge on physical attributes, it is easy to miss out on a girl or guy who could be a great match for you.

If you look past the imperfections, you could just find Mr or Mrs Right sooner than you think. Hair colour and body shape can all change with time. But the way they live and love is what matters. Get to know them a little better to see if they match up with your life.

It’s fun when you keep it simple. Life is a contact sport. If you are sent a contact request after meeting them at one of our dinners, say yes to a drink or a quick meeting. Here’s a quote I read this week-"If you think a person is boring, you don’t know them well enough."
