Founded in 2001, A Table For Six was built by Margaret Newitt when she realised that many singles were disappointed by dating sites.

They found speed-dating shallow, and dating sites rife with fake profiles and bad behaviour.

Singles reported that their married friends were often occupied on weekends and they found themselves with spare time, but no one to share it with.

Singles wanted better opportunities to create new connections for friendship, companionship and love.

Recognising the need for a more authentic way for singles to meet, Margaret began bringing together tables of six — 3 men and 3 women — for shared meals, fun, conversation and connection at carefully selected restaurants. Members loved it!

A Table For Six became a trusted way for singles to meet others and experience enjoyable evenings out.

Its popularity expanded from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra.
