Online dating versus meeting face to face at friendly dinners

A recent online dating report written by psychological Scientists revealed some interesting observations. One of the observations that seem to ring true is that by searching online through the listings of prospective singles to contact, there is a perspective that there are an unlimited number of possible matches.

It has the effect of diminishing the value of any single person. It turns into an attitude that there are always more. It may undermine their willingness to commit to one of them.

The research article says “encountering potential partners via online dating profiles reduces three-dimensional people to two-dimensional displays of information, and these displays fail to capture those experiential aspects of social interaction that are essential to evaluating one’s compatibility with potential partners.”

Every day we speak with singles that have given online dating a try. Many have spent quite a lot of money. they often have not even met anyone face to face. Let alone had a positive dating experience.
