Most of the people who join A Table for six would ultimately like to meet a genuine partner for a long term relationship. There will surely be some new friends along the way and a lot of great nights out over dinner. But, Did you miss out on “the one”?

As human beings, we naturally have some qualities in mind that we would like our new partner to have. Some of those qualities might be, financially secure, fit, attractive and popular. Hopefully they would also include qualities such as loving, compassionate, supportive and flexible.

Few of us would think about wanting a partner who is quick to judge, critical or demanding. And yet, that is how we may be behaving ourselves when we are meeting new people. Making assertions about people and not taking a little time to get to know them could be preventing you from enjoying a loving relationship with a deeply supportive partner who enriches your life.

What could you do to become more like the understanding, compassionate person you would love to meet? Perhaps you could try to be more open other people’s ideas, their occupation or physical appearance.

There is always the choice in every situation to notice the positive in people, or the negative. Both qualities are always there in everyone. If you are quick to judge someone who may not physically or financially fit into you requirements, you could miss out on a gem. Rest assured someone will be smart enough to snap them up.

If you meet someone who is willing to take the time to get to know you and does the little things that show you they care, take some time to get to know them. The relationship may blossom into what you have been looking for all along.

If you would like to share your life with someone who will be forgiving of your own foibles and shortcomings, then behave like the partner you would like to meet.
